Mark Egan is an assistant professor of finance in the Finance Unit, teaching Finance 1 to MBA students.
Professor Egan’s research concentrates on the intersection of corporate finance and industrial organization. His current research agenda explores how consumers access financial markets through banks and brokerage firms. His work has been cited in Bloomberg, The Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the American Economic Review.
Professor Egan received a BA in economics from Middlebury College and a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he worked in interest rate structuring at Barclays Capital in New York.

Gregor Matvos is a Howard Berolzheimer Chair in Finance at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Matvos is interested in issues related financial intermediation, household finance, and corporate finance. His research has been featured in major media, including Bloomberg, the Economist, the Financial Times, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal and has had a direct impact on how regulators supervise financial institutions.
Born and raised in Slovenia, Matvos earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and PhD in Business Economics from Harvard University.
Dr. Amit Seru
STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Amit Seru is the Steven and Roberta Denning Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Professor Seru’s primary research interest is in corporate finance. He is interested in issues related to financial intermediation and regulation, interaction of internal organization of firms with financing and investment, and incentive provision in firms.
Seru earned a B.E. in electronics and communication and an MBA from the University of Delhi. Subsequently, he received a PhD in finance from the University of Michigan before. He was a senior consultant at Accenture before pursuing his Ph.D. Seru was the recipient of a Rackham Pre-Doctoral Fellowship at University of Michigan and received a Lt. Governor’s gold medal for overall academic excellence at the University of Delhi.
